In this vital role, you will play an essential part in overseeing and supporting groundbreaking animal research and technical operations. Our Ideal Candidate:
• Has a High School Diploma/GED with 6-months experience in one of the following:
o research cage wash
o direct research animal care experience
o experience with production/maintenance or similar experience
o animal husbandry/cleaning outside the research field
• Is capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Is skilled at making quick and accurate decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Is adaptable to meet evolving customer needs while minimizing disruptions to productivity.
• Communicates with clarity, effectiveness, and respect.
• Is eager to collaborate and contribute positively in a team setting.
Responsibilities:
• Performs daily maintenance of cage wash equipment and assists with minor repairs to maintain facility upkeep. This may include minor repairs to caging, cage wash equipment, and other animal-related equipment. Notifies supervisor of any equipment malfunction.
• Responsible for ensuring the facility maintains a high level of cleanliness. This includes but is not limited to sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and sanitizing on a scheduled basis and disposing of trash and bedding exposed to biohazards and chemical hazards.
• Ensures all logbooks, checklists, and other records are complete when required.
• Maintains inventory of –
o chemicals, indicators, and supplies used in washing and sterilizing operations
o bulk feed and bedding supplies
o cage wash supplies
