Job summary

Gold-Ranch-Casino- is seeking a Cage Cashier to manage cash handling in the cage and assist guests with transactions in a fast-paced casino environment.

The role requires effective English communication, strong math skills, and adherence to Nevada Gaming rules and internal policies. Previous casino cashier experience is preferred, with standing for extended periods and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Gaming Registration Card required/desired (license) for casino work.

Responsibilities

• Count in and balance cash drawer using cage count sheet.
• Complete sales transactions for cigarettes and other items.
• Cash out casino tickets for guests.
• Add Free Play to Player’s Cards as needed.
• Sign up and issue guests Player’s Cards.
• Provide responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
• Cash Sports Book tickets if the Sports Book is closed.
• Payout jackpots to the manager on duty.
• Conduct inventory of cash and its equivalents.
• Answer incoming calls and transfer calls as needed.
• Know and promote all Casino and Marketing events.

Summary:

Cage Cashiers are responsible for cash handling in the cage, and must be able to adhere to and follow Nevada State Gaming Control and in-house casino policies and procedures.

1. Count in and balance cash drawer, using cage count sheet
2. Complete sales transactions for cigarettes and other items
3. Cash out Casino tickets for guests
4. Add Free Play to Player’s Cards as needed
5. Sign up and issue guests Player’s Cards
6. Achieve company objectives in customer service by ensuring that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
7. Cash Sports Book tickets if the Sports Book is closed
8. Pay out all jackpots to the manager on duty
9. Conducts an inventory of all cash and its equivalents
10. Answers incoming calls and transfer calls as needed
11. Be knowledgeable of and able to explain/promote all Casino and Marketing events

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Previous cashier experience in a casino environment preferred

Language Ability:

Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written English language

Math Ability:

Excellent math skills; ability to calculate money accurately

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Reaching, bending, stretching, lifting up to 50lbs

Ability to work in a noisy, smoky casino environment

Ability to work in a small, confined, office-type setting
