POSITION SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of the Cage Supervisor, contributes to the efficient daily operation of Cage activities by receiving or exchanging negotiable instruments with patrons and accurately balancing bank drawers, in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes accurate monetary transactions for casino patrons in a prompt and courteous manner in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Operates cage window, cashes patron checks, cash advances, and redeems machine vouchers, prize redemptions, Kiosk short pays, and MM2 receipts for cash.
  • Issue gift cards to guests as required.
  • Records all cash coming into cage area; maintains accurate inventory and balance of monies received.
  • Maintains accurate count of jackpots, hand pays and the tax forms associated.
  • Prepares daily opening and closing reports.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation and signatures on all required transactions.
  • Assists patrons with general information upon request.
  • Assist with Guest Services by printing Player's Club cards resetting PIN numbers.
  • Performs count in/out procedures in compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

  • Goals, objectives, functions, policies, and procedures of Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel.
  • Applicable federal, state, tribal, and gaming laws, regulations, requirements, and principles.
  • Cash handling, banking, and/or accounting methods and procedures.
  • Basic accounting, math, and record keeping practices and procedures.

Skill in:

  • Operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
  • Operating a 10-key calculator, currency machines, and cash service ID scanner.
  • Analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.
  • Addressing customer problems.
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of cashiering experience.
  • A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
  • Preferred valid driver's license
  • Tribal and Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to submit supporting documentation of education and training to support qualifications.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license in good standing according to licensing rules and regulations.
  • Personal reference check and employment verification.
  • Conducts Federal, State, and tribal criminal history in accordance with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Gaming Commission Regulation, Part 400.7, Background Investigations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to manipulate, touch, or grasp; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand; walk; reach with hands or arms; use a computer and telephone; and lift up to 25 pounds. The employee may rarely climb or balance; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee regularly is exposed to dust, fumes, airborne particles, allergens, and/or second‑hand smoke; and occasionally to hostile, offensive, and / or violent individuals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is generally performed in a casino setting with a moderate and occasionally high noise level. Evening and/or weekend work is required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required for training, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
