The Cage Cashier is responsible for protecting company assets and adhering to company and departmental policies, procedures, and gaming regulations. This role requires delivering excellent customer service while accurately handling customer transactions, including exchanging chips and cash equivalents, cashing checks, exchanging foreign currency, and performing all other cage-related functions. The Cage Cashier assists guests with establishing credit lines and communicates with appropriate personnel regarding customer credit information. This position requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work cooperatively with team members and other departments.
Ensure excellent guest service at all times
Present oneself as a credit to the department and company
Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to departmental and company policies
Protect company assets through accurate and compliant transaction handling
Maintain an accurate cash drawer and balance funds at the beginning and end of each shift
Verify identification and ensure all transactions comply with regulatory and internal controls
Monitor for suspicious or fraudulent activity and report concerns as required
Handle large sums of money with accuracy and accountability
Maintain confidentiality of all financial and guest information
Complete required documentation and logs for all transactions
Adhere to all gaming laws, anti-money laundering (AML) procedures, and company policies
Collaborate with supervisors and security on cash discrepancies or issues
Lift up to 35 pounds and push/pull heavy carts on the casino floor
Bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while performing job duties
Operate office equipment including 10-key adding machines, PCs, fax machines, and photocopiers
Respond to visual and aural cues in a fast-paced environment
Work effectively in moderate to loud noise conditions
Manual dexterity to operate computers and office equipment
Ability to stand for the entire shift
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple tasks and time constraints
Ability to handle heavy business volume and sensitive guest or staff situations promptly
Ability to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke
High School Diploma required
Minimum 1–2 years of related experience
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of management
Strong teamwork skills and ability to work cooperatively
Well‑groomed, professional appearance
Self‑motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
Strong mathematical and clerical aptitude for accurate record‑keeping
Ability to obtain/renew all government‑required licenses, including a Virginia Lottery Gaming Permit License
Hourly Rate: $16.00 per hour plus tips
