Ensures all transactions are conducted accurately and efficiently, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and gaming rules, as well as established company policies, procedures, and Internal Controls.

  • Main Cage
  • Poker Cage
  • VIP Cage

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following duties represent the primary responsibilities of this role. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as necessary. All duties must comply with Tribal, Federal, and organizational policies, Internal Controls, and regulations.

  • Follow all company and department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a friendly and courteous attitude while delivering the highest standard of quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Accurately balance assigned cash drawers.
  • Cash chips and other gaming instruments promptly and courteously.
  • Process approved checks and other monetary instruments according to company policies.
  • Redeem foreign currency and compute accurate exchange rates for various currencies.
  • Perform marker, front money, and safekeeping issuances and redemptions.
  • Maintain logs and complete transactions in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Complete all required casino documents accurately and thoroughly.
  • Safeguard company assets and adhere to all Cage policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of the facility and promotional events to assist guests effectively.
  • Be accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all assigned training sessions.
  • Facilitate the flow of information by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures.
  • Uphold the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Assist with additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Serve as an outstanding example and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An applicant's education, training, and experience must demonstrate the ability to successfully perform all essential duties and responsibilities. Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.

Additional qualifications include some cash-handling experience, proficiency in computer skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Must thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment requiring focus and attention to detail, demonstrate the ability to resolve problems diplomatically and tactfully, and possess effective communication skills. A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be highly numbers-oriented, computer-literate, and at least 18 years of age.

General Or Preferred Qualifications

At least six months of cage experience in a casino environment. College coursework in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or a related field.

Language Skills

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedure manuals. They must also be capable of writing routine reports and correspondence, as well as speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees within the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to apply common sense and sound reasoning to a variety of situations.
