Job summary

Riverside School District 96 is seeking a substitute Cafeteria Worker to support lunch service during student attendance days. The position offers 3 to 4 hours per day with a $17.00 hourly rate and no benefits.

The role requires basic education, with a preference for an Illinois Food Service Sanitation License and a high school diploma or GED. Responsibilities include serving pre-packaged items, maintaining temperature logs, food rotation, and keeping the serving area clean and organized.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and serve pre-packaged food items according to established procedures and portion control standards.
• Set out milk cartons for lunch on chilled areas.
• Assure proper temperature of foods and record according to schedule.
• Label and date open food products for proper storage and rotation.
• Track food for daily production logs.
• Maintain and report low supply of condiments, food items and paper goods to the Food Service Manager.
• Follow health, safety and sanitation principles applicable to food serving and kitchen maintenance.
• Maintain food serving area, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition; maintain log.
• Able to lift and move milk crates (up to 25 lb).
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Certification/License:

• Illinois Food Service Sanitation License (preferred)
  • Obtain a valid Illinois Food Service Sanitation License within 30 days of hire
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Responsibilities:

• Arrange and serve pre-packaged food items according to established procedures and portion control standards
