The Greater Cincinnati School Application Consortium is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant at a high school in Mount Repose, Ohio. The role involves preparing and assembling a variety of meals, slicing meats and vegetables, and packaging items for transport to campus units.

You will operate dishwashers, slicers, ovens and other small appliances, following written and oral procedures. Requires good verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team, and a willingness to comply

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a commercial dishwasher and meat slicer.
  • Ability to handle knives and other sharp items safely.
  • Follow written and/or oral procedures and practices.
  • Attendance requirements must be met.
  • Background check as part of public school employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, mix and assemble a variety of sandwiches.
  • Slice meat, cheese and vegetables for sandwiches and other menu options.
  • Pack prepared sandwiches for transport to units on campus.
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment.
  • Clean all food contact surfaces with sanitizer.
  • Sweep and mop floors; wash and sanitize slicing equipment.
  • Clean and organize coolers and freezers.
  • Cook menu items, set up and breakdown steam table, clean steam table.
  • Record temperature settings on coolers/freezers.
  • Operate the commercial dishwasher and wash dishes, utensils, knives and containers.
  • Perform other duties as required.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Routine manual work involving food production in Food Service cash operations in a high school setting. Work involves preparing and making food options which may include but are not limited to: slicing and weighing of meat, vegetables, fruits and grain products for cooking, assembling, packaging, and packing of menu items. Activities and decisions are routine in nature. Employee follows written and/or oral procedures and practices.

Must have the ability tooperate commercial dishwasher, meat slicer, ovens, mixers and other small appliances. Ability to handle knives and other sharp items in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may include some or all of the following:

  • Prepare, mix and assemble a variety of sandwiches
  • Slice meat, cheese, vegetables or other products for sandwiches or other menu options
  • Pack prepared sandwiches for transport and delivery to units on campus
  • Clean and sanitize work area and equipment
  • Clean all food contact surfaces with sanitizer
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Wash and sanitize slicing equipment after every use
  • Clean and organize coolers and freezers
  • Cook menu items, prepare steam table set-up and break-down, and clean steam table
  • Record temperature setting on coolers and freezers
  • Operate commercial dishwasher
  • Wash all dishes, utensils, knives and containers
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Must satisfy all job related attendance requirements
  • A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment

Availability: Immediately
Hours: 5hours per day (7:30a.m.- 12:30p.m.) Monday through Friday

Salary: $17.20per hour (benefits not included)
