Applitrack is seeking a Cafeteria Worker/Cook for Longbranch Elementary School to prepare and serve nutritious meals with a focus on efficiency and cleanliness. The role is full-time with a 180-day contract and benefits, including 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow supervisor guidelines, policies, and directions.
• Check food shipments and verify invoices.
• Check daily menus with manager and plan quantities.
• Prepare food according to planned menu/recipes.
• Ensure food quality in flavor/appearance before serving.
• Record food withdrawn from storage.
• Store/dispose unused foods properly.
• Major cleaning at scheduled intervals; assist in daily kitchen clean.
• Assist in collecting money for meals/beverages.
• Move equipment, supplies, and furniture as needed.
• Report problems in kitchen to Cafeteria Manager.
• Report faulty/inferior food quality to manager.
• Assist in ordering supplies.
• Assist manager in absence.
• Attend in-service trainings/workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

TITLE:

Cafeteria Worker/Cook - Full-Time

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
• Has received or is eligible to receive certification as a school food service employee by the Division of School Food Service
• Has specialized skills in basic mathematics
• Has the ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds numerous times per day
• Is neat and clean in person and in work habits
• Has ability to read and follow written directions and recipes
• Has ability to operate equipment used in school cafeteria such as cash register, slicer, grater, mixer, steamer, frying machine, dishwasher, steam cart, ovens, etc.

JOB GOAL:

To serve attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be familiar with written guidelines, policies, procedures, and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
• Check food shipments into school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified
• Check daily menus with manager and work out recipes for correct food amounts
• Prepare food according to planned menu and tested recipes
• Assure that food is of best quality in flavor and appearance before it is served
• Record all food withdrawn from storage
• Assure that unused foods are properly stored or disposed of
• Perform major cleaning at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by manager
• Assist in daily cleaning of kitchen
• Assist in collecting money for meals and beverages sold
• Move equipment, supplies and furniture as required for area of responsibility
• Report immediately any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen to the Manager Cafeteria
• Report to manager any faulty or inferior quality food which is received
• Assist manager in ordering supplies
• Assume manager duties in manager's absence
• Attend in-service training or workshops
• Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor
