Publix Super Markets in McCalla, AL, is seeking a Cafeteria Supervisor to lead daily operations within one of the Publix associate cafeterias and assist the cafeteria manager in planning and executing strategic initiatives.

You will develop hourly associates, implement best practices, monitor costs ($500K - $2M annual plan), and ensure safe, premier service. Collaboration across departments and readiness for varied schedules are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s degree in Culinary, Hospitality, Nutritional, or Business Management or comparable work experience
• Three years of cooking experience in an environment with multiple products/methods
• Leadership experience (1 year)
• ServSafe or equivalent Food Safety Manager certification
• Willingness to work a variable schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours
• Ability to be on call 24/7 and travel with overnight stays
• Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Publix hiring processes and distribution processes for hourly associates

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before their start date in the position)
• Associate’s degree in Culinary, Hospitality, Nutritional, or Business Management or comparable work experience in a restaurant or cafeteria dining setting or equivalent experience
• Three years of cooking experience in an environment where a variety of products and methods are used
• One year of leadership experience
• ServSafe or equivalent Food Safety Manager certification
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to food in addition to food safety and storage requirements
• Must have a willingness to work a variable work schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours
• Ability to be on call 24 hours/7 days a week
• Ability to travel with overnight stays

• Knowledge of best industry practices and regulatory guidelines

• Knowledge of departmental KPIs, how to interpret performance and financial information, and how to plan improvements

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
