Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a Non-Instructional Assistant for Webster Elementary School in Mesa, AZ. This part-time role covers 20 hours per week with a base hourly rate of $16.56, under a class/calendar designation of A11, 9.25 months.

Responsibilities include monitoring student activities in the cafeteria and playground, intervening as needed, reporting incidents, and assisting during lunchtime. Attendance and routine duties are required to support safe, orderly school operations.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience working with and/or supervising children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the activities of students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground.
• Counsel and/or intervene with students to ensure acceptable behavior.
• Report observations and/or incidents relating to students to appropriate school personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns.
• Assist students during lunchtime.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (clean up spills on tables, floor, etc.).
• Regular and on-time attendance required.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools.
