Job summary

Texans Can Academies in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Food Service Assistant to oversee campus cafeteria operations and ensure program compliance with TEA, TDA, and USDA guidelines. The role focuses on accurate coding and documentation of student lunch applications and related submissions.

Candidates should hold a Food Service Certification and have at least two years of supervisory food service experience, preferably in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Food Service Certification required.
• Experience as a school cafeteria manager preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in food service supervision required.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Food Service Operation to meet requirements in accordance with TEA/TDA/USDA guidelines for Texas.
• Review, verify and approve/disapprove student meal applications on a daily basis to ensure accurate listing of students eligible for participation in free/reduced meal program.
• Ensure each school cafeteria staff is notified as students are enrolled and become eligible for the free/reduced meal program and students become ineligible or exit the school.
• Monitors and prepares all Food Service reports and records.
• Perform random student eligibility verification as assigned by the Director, SNS.
• Provides supervision for a staff of Food Service Assistants.
• Perform safety and sanitation inspections each month using the Standard Inspection Form developed for Food Service use. Report findings to Director, SNS.
• Monitor and/or prepare Food Production Records as assigned by Director, SNS.
• Monitors and/or prepares accurate records to ensure counting and claiming of meals are accurate and that all funds are accurately accounted for.
• Ensure bank deposits of Food Service funds are made as assigned by the Director, SNS.
• Other duties as assigned.
