Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking a Cafeteria Manager I to oversee food service operations within our Child Nutrition program. You will supervise and train staff, manage food orders and inventory, and ensure safety and sanitation standards while coordinating with students, teachers, and building administration.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:15 am to 2:15 pm, 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) for 9 months. The position starts at $24.46 per hour, with benefits for positions 20+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar position
• Required to attend certification courses offered by CANS

Responsibilities

• Supervises and trains staff and schedules shifts.
• Orders all food and equipment.
• Receives and stores food and supplies.
• Assists in production as needed.
• Keeps production and participation records.
• Maintains safety and sanitation procedures.
• Liaison between students, teachers and building administration.
• Evaluates staff.
• Performs lunchbox duties as needed.
• Completes daily deposits.
