Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and 4 years work experience.
• Experience with food inventory control and budget management.
• Current safety training certificate or ability to obtain one ASAP upon hire.
• Current food service sanitation license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Job description

The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the supervision and operation of Reid State Community College’s cafeteria. This role ensures safe, sanitary, cost-effective, high-quality food service and supervises cafeteria staff, including work-study students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct activities of cafeteria employees and work-study students.
• Plan balanced menus for meals served on campus.
• Purchase food, beverages, and related supplies and services; solicit competitive pricing.
• Control operating cash and other food service funds; maintain accurate accounting records.
• Supervise production of food in compliance with state food sanitation regulations.
• Manage and control inventories; perform regular inventory audits.
• Ensure quality control of food and service and maintain required sanitation standards.
• Monitor budget and assist with financial reporting for food service operations.
• Participate in college committees and campus initiatives as needed.
• Assist in preparation of Food.
• Perform other duties as assigned by college administration.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands; frequently required to reach, talk, and hear.

• Works primarily indoors near hot surfaces; noise level usually moderate.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Direct and/or indirect supervisory responsibility for full-time and part-time cafeteria staff in compliance with ACCS and Reid State policies.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP systems.
• Experience working in a community college environment.
