Job summary

Portage Public Schools seeks a Hall Supervisor for Central Middle School. This Edustaff employee supervises the cafeteria, hallways, ISS room, study halls, and the parking lot during the school day, and may serve as a substitute teacher when needed.

The role runs 7.5 hours per day (7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) for the 2026-27 school year. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, college credit or paraprofessional test, and experience with children. PPS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 60 semester credits / Associate’s degree or higher OR paraprofessional test.
• Experience working with children.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, students and community.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cafeteria and hallways during the school day.
• Supervises the cafeteria during lunch periods and enforces rules.
• Checks restrooms and ensures students return to class punctually.
• Supervises the in-school suspension room and provides tutoring assistance.
• Keeps computerized records on disciplinary referrals.
• Works with staff to maintain a safe and positive school environment.
• Substitute teaching duties as needed.
