Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare meals daily using approved recipes and maintain high sanitation standards. The role reports to the Manager Nutrition Services and involves serving students and staff, handling payments, and assisting in inventory management.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, be able to read and follow directions, and possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience in food service.
• Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals daily using standard recipes and meet menu requirements.
• Serve meals and understand reimbursable meal patterns.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and safety practices in food production.
• Assist cashier and collect payments for meals served.
• Assist in inventory and storage of food and supplies.
• Provide backup support in cooking areas as needed.
• Interact with students, staff, and visitors to provide good customer service.
