Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a cafeteria support role to assist with food preparation and cashier duties, ensuring safety, cleanliness and efficiency in the cafeteria operations. The position requires following district policies, and maintaining high standards of service.

The role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and reading and following written directions in English.

Qualifications

• Possess current Food Handler’s Card or obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Valid Texas/New Mexico driver’s license/ID card; subject to the district’s drug and alcohol screening policy; insurable by the district's auto liability carrier.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the food preparation and cashier duties as assigned.
• Operate large and small kitchen equipment after receiving instructions.
• Clean and sanitize work area and kitchen equipment.
• Serve meals on service line after receiving instructions as to portion sizes.
• Follow assigned cleaning and maintenance schedules and campus attendance procedures.
• Unpack supplies and assist with stacking dry storage and refrigeration shelves.
