Job summary

Quest Food Management Services, Inc. is seeking a diligent Cashier I to provide friendly, efficient service to students, staff, and guests while accurately processing cafeteria purchases.

You will maintain a well-organized cashier station, assist customers, and support the food service team as needed. Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling cash transactions, and upholding safety and sanitation procedures in a fast-paced school dining environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in cashier, food service, retail or customer service preferred, but not required.
• Ability to provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Basic math skills and accurate cash handling.
• Ability to learn and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Efficient in fast-paced environments.
• Dependable, punctual and team-oriented.
• Must meet school or client-site requirements if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Greet students, staff, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accurately process cafeteria purchases using the POS system.
• Handle cash and other forms of payment per procedures.
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer and proper cash-handling.
• Assist customers with menu questions and purchases.
• Keep cashier station and surrounding areas clean and stocked.
• Follow all food safety and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with light food service, stocking, setup, and cleanup as needed.
• Work cooperatively with team members during busy meal periods.
• Follow Quest policies, school procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
