Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is seeking a part-time cafeteria worker to support daily food service operations at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR.

You will replenish napkin dispensers, prepare coffee and beverages, set up lines, serve meals, assist with storage and inventory, and help clean the dining area and kitchen equipment.

Must hold a current ServSafe (Food Handler) Certification and be able to lift up to 20 lbs; valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current ServSafe (Food Handler) Certification.
• Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Replenish napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers and condiments.
• Make coffee, tea and other beverages and set up cafeteria lines and serve meals on the line.
• Assist in the storage and inventory of supplies; transfer food ingredients from storage area to cooking area.
• Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances.

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for replenishing napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers and condiments. Make coffee, tea and other beverages and set up cafeteria lines and serve meals on the line. Assist in the storage and inventory of supplies; transfer food ingredients from storage area to cooking area. Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances.

Essential functions:

1. Prepare vegetables, salads, meat, bread, and desserts as instructed or routinely set forth in an appetizing manner.
2. Perform clean-up and sanitation duties by washing dishes/utensils, store in orderly fashion.
3. Assist with food preparation and service area daily which includes keeping refrigerators, floors, and food carts clean.
4. Perform cooking duties as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must possess a current ServSafe (Food Handler) Certification.
• Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record required.
