Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR. We are seeking a custodian to maintain clean facilities and support program staff.

You will perform cleaning tasks including flooring care, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and exterior maintenance, while following government and management directives. Full-time schedule with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• Experience as a custodian preferred.
• Must understand basic cleaning compounds, waxes, polishes, disinfectants, etc, and their proper applications.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds up and down flights of stairs.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and preserve all flooring and coverings by sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and other areas on the center.
• Collect and dispose of trash, litter and debris.
• Keep exterior steps, entrances, landings, walls, ceilings, light fixtures and sidewalks clean.
• Work with cleaning agents, waxes, disinfectants and related products.
• Duties may include weeding, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, reseeding, or planting.

What you will be doing

You’ll be responsible for the completion of a wide variety of tasks and keeping assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Maintain and preserve all flooring an/or coverings by sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and other areas on the center.
• Collect and dispose of all trash, litter and other debris found around the buildings and grounds.
• Keep clean the exterior steps, entrances, landings, interior walls, ceilings, light fixtures and sidewalks.
• Work with compounds, waxes, disinfectants and other cleaning agents.
