Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Full-Time Cafeteria Attendant for the Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, TX. This role supports the culinary team, ensuring food is served to specifications and coordinating with line cooks in a bustling resort cafeteria.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of culinary experience preferred and are able to stand long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain strict health and safety standards. Training may be provided for Food Handler certification on hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Food & Beverage setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Chef to learn daily prep tasks and coordinate work.
• Maintain walk-in, prep area and equipment per Health Dept standards.
• Perform assignments to meet required quantities within time frames.
• Be knowledgeable of all cafeteria areas and menu items.
• Coordinate daily with cooks for pars and production requirements.
• Keep back and prep areas clean during shifts.
• Update and maintain the prep list daily.
• Check with MOD before leaving for the day.

This is the perfect role for someone who wants to launch a culinary career! This team member willensure all food is served according to specifications, and work in conjunction with all line cooks.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with the Chef to learn daily work tasks and their coordination, and complete daily prep list.
• Keep walk-in, prep area and equipment up to Health Department and EcoSure standards at all times.
• Perform work assignments to meet proper quantities within a necessary time frame.
• Be knowledgeable of all areas in the cafeteria.
• Be knowledgeable of plate presentations and preparations of all menu items.
• Communicate with all cooks daily for proper pars and production requirements when needed.
• Keep back and prep area clean as you work.
• Fill and maintain the prep list up to par, check daily.
• Checkwith MOD before leaving for the day.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age requirement of 18 years
• Must be able to endure exposure to heat, steam and hazardous cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to stand for length of shift
• Must be able to walk, run, push, pull and lift up to 50 Ilbs.
• Ability to remain active, including standing for 8+ hours per day
• Must have previous experience working in similar Food and Beverage department (kitchen, cafeteria, etc.).
• 1-2 years of culinary experience preferred; well-versed in operation of at least one culinary station.
• Must have unexpired Food Handler – or obtain upon hire
