Job summary

St. Joseph Academy in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support the Food & Nutrition Services Supervisor. You will help with breakfast, lunch and snack delivery, ensure sanitation standards, and troubleshoot equipment issues during production shifts.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment; Safe Serve certification is needed within six months, and Spanish is a plus. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED preferred.
• Experience in food service/kitchen.
• Safe Serve Certification required within 6 months.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with people in and outside of Food & Nutrition Services.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing); interact with children, families and staff.
• Detail oriented; multi-task; set priorities; work under pressure; meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Extends excellent service to all children.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in work area.
• Operates and secures all equipment safely.
• Set up cafeteria for lunch services; wash tables and mop floors.
• Manage kitchen stock; labeling and dating items.
• Deep cleaning of kitchen and related areas.
