Location: Miami Elementary School
Mon – Fri 10:15 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (when school is in session, 18.75 hours per week)
Rate: $13.88 per hour
PRIMARY FUNCTION
LSC Elementary Café/Recess Supervisors work directly under the supervision of the building principal or their designee. All supervisors are responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of students during lunch and recess in accordance with guidelines established by LSC and the building principal.

Building Principal or Designee
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: No requirement.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Health: Reasonably good health and able to be outside at all times of the year.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to gain respect of students and supervise them.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with staff members.
- Dress: Appropriate dress is important as a role model.
- Experience: No requirement.
- Certification & License: No requirement.
- Must maintain a professional attitude and use appropriate language.
- 95% work attendance required unless excused. Absences must be called in by 9 a.m. daily.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional specific duties may vary at different schools. Typical duties include:
- Line students up in alphabetical order to enter the lunch line and bring students to the cafeteria.
- Circulate in the lunch room constantly to assist students and monitor behavior.
- Monitor behavior of students and take corrective measures when required.
- Clean spills and pick up trash in the lunchroom (use mop and broom when needed).
- Take students to the play area and return them to classroom after lunch.
- Know, communicate, and enforce all lunch room, playground, hallway, and restroom rules.
- Communicate exemplary and inappropriate behavior with building administration and classroom teachers.
- Refrain from utilizing punitive discipline methods.
- Know, communicate, and implement building-level emergency procedures.
- Teach and expect good manners and proper etiquette from students.
- Encourage students to wash their hands before eating and after using the restroom.
- Follow federal, state, and local guidelines regarding the school lunch program as directed by the food service provider.
