Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino Resort in California seeks a Hostperson/Cashier for the Café to warmly greet guests, seat parties, and manage the wait list using the reservation system. You will also take to-go orders at the POS and assist with dessert counter orders.

This role supports service standards, communicates with servers and management, maintains the host podium, and ensures health and safety procedures are followed in a busy restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Greet Guests at the restaurant entrance with a warm welcome and inquire about party size.
• Seat parties evenly or place on a waiting list, presenting menus to Guests.
• Update table status using the reservation system and coordinate with servers.
• Stock and clean dessert display case and host podium.
• Take and process Guest to-go orders in POS and render checks with proper tendering.
• Perform bussing and resetting of tables, side work, and duties from management.
• Answer phones and provide information as needed.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Communicate with servers, bus persons, and management on room coordination.
• Update open station statuses and assign servers to stations per labor allocation.

Position Summary:The Hostperson/Cashier in the Café is responsible for greeting and seating Guests arriving at the restaurant, including updating table statuses using the reservation system and managing the Guest wait list. The Hostperson/Cashier will also process and tender to-go orders and orders from the dessert counter. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.Essential Functions:1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.2. Greet Guests at the restaurant entrance verbally with a warm welcome and inquire about the number in their party. Advise Guests of waiting time if necessary.3. Seat parties evenly throughout open stations, or place parties on a waiting list using established guidelines. Present menus to Guests.4. Organize parties waiting to be seated, and update table status using the reservation system.5. Update open station statuses, station templates, and assign servers to stations following the daily labor allocation sheet.6. Communicate with servers, bus persons, and management on room coordination.7. Stock and clean dessert display case and host podium.8. Take and process Guest to-go orders into point-of-sale (POS), and process Guest checks following established procedures and proper tendering of transactions.9. Perform tasks including bussing and resetting tables, side work, and duties assigned by management.10. Answer phones and provide information as needed.11. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.Work Conditions:Work is typically conducted in a restaurant environment which may be hot, cold, and noisy. Work may also be conducted in or near the casino in the presence of secondhand smoke. Team Members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and with Guests is standard.
