Job summary

Village Health Clubs & Spas is seeking a cafe/kitchen lead responsible for all foods served in the cafe, upholding health code procedures, and ensuring item quality. You will manage prep, inventory, ordering, and sanitation across the kitchen while delivering friendly, efficient service to members and guests.

Responsibilities include maintaining pars, FIFO, daily/weekly side work, and collaborating with front staff to serve guests promptly.

Qualifications

• Current food handler’s card issued by the county and compliant with health regulations.
• Food preparation/cooking experience is a plus.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of state restaurant health codes.
• Must be reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Keep pars prepared according to the Daily Prep List and Cafe Manager directives.
• Interact with staff, members and guests in line with Village Standards.
• Provide excellent customer service to attract and retain members.
• Monitor food rotation using FIFO principles.
• Perform monthly inventory and make needed adjustments.
• Maintain stockroom and dry storage.
• Place food orders with attention to pars and costs.
• Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and to cafe standards.
• Maintain temperature logs for refrigeration equipment.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized at all times.
• Clean dishes and small wares used during the day.
• Perform daily/weekly side work per schedule.
• Communicate with management to keep kitchen running smoothly.
• Provide guests with efficient and friendly service.
• Prioritize guest experience in the cafe.
