The Café Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding guest service, receiving and processing payments, and serving food and beverage items in a timely manner. In addition, the Café Attendant is responsible for engaging with guests behind the customer service counter, as well as beyond the service counter. They will also assist the kitchen team members, as needed, to ensure quick and efficient ticket times. This part-time position reports to the General Manager and Café Lead.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Upon hire and training, the individual must be able to successfully utilize the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center Point of Sale software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following:
Food Handlers Certification (within 60 days of employment)
Age Requirements: Due to hours of operation, the individual must be at least 16 years of age.
