Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is hiring a full-time Cafe Associate at our Livonia location. You will prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies and other beverages, as well as hot foods like soup, baked goods, and pizza.

You will greet customers, handle transactions at the register, and maintain an orderly coffee bar area. The role requires reliability, ability to multitask, and previous cafe experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Experience with cash handling and customer service is required.
• Experience in cafe or coffee bar is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to stand for 8+ hour shifts and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies and other beverages to customers.
• Serve food items including hot soup, baked goods and pizza.
• Prepare pizzas following recipes, shape dough, add toppings, bake.
• Assemble items including pasta, sandwiches, pizza, etc.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Complete purchases at the cash register.
• Answer multi-line phone and route calls as needed.
• Maintain display and stock of coffee bar supplies.
• Maintain neat personal appearance at all times.
• Handle damaged or spoiled products per guidelines and assist with shrink control.
• Ensure coffee bar cleanliness per safety and sanitation policies.
• Notify management of safety or equipment issues.
• Assist in training associates when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for a full time Cafe Associate for our Livonia location.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies and other beverage items to customers.
• Serve food items to customers including hot soup, baked goods and pizza.
• Make pizza following company recipe, including shaping dough, adding toppings and cooking in oven.
• Make all recipes items including pasta, sandwiches, pizza, etc.
• Greet all customers and provide them prompt, courteous and excellent service or assistance.
• Complete customer purchases using the cash register.
• Answer multi-line phone and transfer or route calls, as needed.
• Maintain display and stock of all coffee bar supplies including beverages, condiments, utensils, baked goods, etc.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times.
• Handle any damaged or spoiled product according to department guidelines and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
• Maintain cleanliness of coffee bar in compliance with safety and sanitation policies and procedures at all times.
• Notify management immediately of any safety or equipment issues or violations.
• Assist in training associates when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Previous cash handling/customer service experience, required.
• Previous coffee bar/cafe experience, preferred.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods.
• The ability to operate equipment safely and correctly.
• Ability to multitask, maintain a positive attitude, problem solve.
