Job summary

Reserva Coffee Roasters in McAllen, TX is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily café operations and ensure exceptional hospitality. You will supervise staff, train new hires, and uphold high standards for beverage quality, cleanliness, and guest experience.

The role requires 18+ years old, a valid Food Managers license, weekend and holiday availability, and strong English communication. Candidates with barista training and Spanish skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have outstanding customer service and hospitality standards.
• Experience leading teams and delegating tasks; supervises staff and models professional behavior.
• Ability to plan, organize and set priorities in a fast-paced cafe environment.
• Must be willing to work 4-5 floor shifts per week and be on-call for events and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Fosters teaming concepts and servant leadership standards
• Oversee proper training of café personnel
• Train new hires in barista concepts
• Teach professional brewing techniques including extraction, pour over, milk steaming, and latte art
• Be on-call to cover shifts and handle emergencies
• Maintain high quality and consistent product standards
• Maintain a clean, organized store and report any issues
• Prepare and serve beverages adhering to recipes and quality standards
• Coordinate all communication with Café Manager
• Coach and train staff as necessary
• Ensure adherence to dress code and safety requirements
• Assist Café Manager with all café operations
• Lead customer experiences with friendly, knowledgeable service
• Respond to questions and concerns with professionalism
• Engage customers about drink preferences and offerings
• Demonstrate initiative with routine tasks
• Sample espresso shots to dial in quality
• Washing dishes and keeping areas clean and stocked
• Delegate tasks as needed
• All other duties as assigned
