Job summary

The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) is seeking a part-time Café Aide to support daily cafeteria operations. The role runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a salary of $16.41 per hour, reporting to the Building Administrator.

The Cafeteria Aide helps maintain safety and order while assisting students and staff. Responsibilities include supervising students, monitoring behavior, and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment during meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Some job-related experience is desired.
• Adherence to safety practices is required.
• Basic communication and record-keeping skills are important.
• Ability to operate standard cafeteria equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with tasks like opening packages and locating food lines.
• Assist in evacuations and ensure student safety during emergencies.
• Keep the cafeteria clean and orderly and remind students of proper behavior.
• Monitor students to ensure a safe and positive environment.
• Encourage good social behavior among students.
• Provide information and direction as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Students: Help students with tasks like opening packages and locating food lines.
• Emergency Support: Assist in evacuations and ensure student safety during emergencies.
• Maintain Order: Keep the cafeteria clean and orderly, and remind students of proper behavior.
• Supervise: Monitor students to ensure a safe and positive environment.
• Promote Social Skills: Encourage good social behavior among students.
• Respond to Inquiries: Provide information and direction as needed.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience: Some job-related experience is desired.
