ALTEN Technology USA seeks an experienced CAE Engineer for BIW and full vehicle-level modeling and analysis on an aluminum-intensive pickup program. You will collaborate with design, CAE, and manufacturing teams to develop, validate, and optimize simulation models and provide recommendations.

The ideal candidate has strong automotive CAE background, expertise in BIW, aluminum structures, and load-case evaluation, with experience in LS-DYNA and related tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of automotive CAE experience.
  • Strong BIW and full vehicle-level modeling and analysis experience.
  • Experience with aluminum-intensive automotive structures.
  • Proficiency with ANSA, META, LS-DYNA, and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate CAE models for BIW, truck bed/box structures, and full vehicle-level systems.
  • Perform structural analyses for key load cases: torsion, stiffness, point mobility, and others.
  • Conduct NVH-related analyses as required and support model validation.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize BIW and aluminum structures.
  • Document analysis results and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Operate HPC resources for large-scale simulations and track iterations.

We are seeking an experienced CAE Engineer to support BIW and full vehicle-level modeling and analysis for an aluminum-intensive pickup truck development program.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automotive structural CAE, BIW analysis, aluminum structures, and load-case evaluation. The engineer will work closely with design, CAE, manufacturing, and client teams to develop and validate simulation models and provide technical recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate CAE models for BIW, truck bed/box structures, and full vehicle-level systems.
  • Perform structural analyses for key vehicle load cases, including:
  • Torsion
  • Stiffness
  • Point mobility
  • Other vehicle-level structural load cases
  • Conduct NVH-related analysis as required.
  • Evaluate structural performance and identify areas for design improvement.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize BIW and aluminum structures based on CAE results.
  • Support model correlation, validation, and iterative design development.
  • Participate in technical reviews with client and material/supplier teams, including Novelis teams where applicable.
  • Present simulation results and technical recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Document analysis results and engineering recommendations using PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Prepare and maintain final CAE input files and required engineering documentation.
  • Track analysis iterations and model changes using project tracking sheets.
  • Work with high-performance computing (HPC) resources to execute large-scale simulations.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of modeling or analysis issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of automotive CAE experience.
  • Strong experience with BIW and full vehicle-level modeling and analysis.
  • Experience analyzing aluminum-intensive automotive structures.
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following:
  • ANSA
  • META
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics and automotive load cases.
  • Experience with stiffness, bending, torsion, NVH, and point mobility analysis.
  • Knowledge of automotive BIW design and structural architecture.
  • Understanding of sheet metal design, joining, forming, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong technical documentation and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LS-DYNA.
  • Experience with pickup truck or full vehicle development programs.
  • Experience with aluminum BIW and truck bed/box structures.
  • Knowledge of aluminum joining technologies and structural optimization.
  • Experience working with OEMs, material suppliers, or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Experience with HPC-based CAE workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.
