Job summary

Metric Engineering is seeking a CADD Technician to join our Traffic Operations team in Lake Mary, FL. In this role, you will develop transportation-related construction plans using CADD while ensuring compliance with design criteria and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of roadway design utilizing FDOT or similar CADD standards.
• Experience using CADD for calculations and design plans preparation.
• Overall knowledge of project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Calculate project quantities as part of the Plans Production process.

Metric is looking for a CADD Technician to join our Traffic Operations team. This position is responsible for developing and preparing transportation related construction plans using computer aided drafting and design (CADD). They will also ensure that plan preparation follows the appropriate design criteria, procedures and guidelines, while working alongside engineers and other designers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Knowledge of highway engineering design and terminology
• Knowledge of roadway design utilizing FDOT or similar standards, electronic delivery, utilities, signing and pavement markings, and signalization
• Skilled in use of CADD for design plans preparation and to perform calculations. Skilled at using Bentley MicroStation Connect and OpenRoads (or prior versions) preferred.
• Ability to communicate with other team members working on the same projects. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, particularly related to technical information. Ability to organize projects and tasks while staying on schedule and meet required deadlines.
• All facets of the Plans Production process including calculating quantities
