Job summary

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) seeks an entry-level drafter for its Tucson, AZ office. Under supervision, you will provide drafting support for projects, producing drawings from markups and revisions to clearly represent facilities.

You will build skills in manual and CAD drafting, collaborating with engineers and project managers. The role offers growth, travel as needed, and a strong benefits package with health, retirement and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• College degree or two-year technical certificate in CAD/Drafting.
• Two years of concentrated drafting/design experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete drawings of structures, layouts and facilities from markups or revised drawings.
• Create section, detail views and profiles to clearly represent facilities.
• Follow supervisor guidance to develop skills and accuracy in drafts.

Job description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Tucson, AZ office as a drafter.

Under general supervision of a project manager or engineer, the successful candidate will provide entry-level manual and computer-aided drafting support for ECI projects with a goal to develop higher level of skills and abilities. Work includes preparing complete drawings of structures, layouts, facilities or general arrangements, including section and detail views, and profiles in a manner to provide clear and concise representation of facilities. Preparation basis is typically from engineering drawing markups or modification of previously prepared, similar drawings.

Minimum Requirements:

College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-sided drafting/design field. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills; proven excellent level of interpersonal skills; ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. Proven ability to work with confidential information. Proven ability to exercise independent judgment.Occasional travel/driving may be required. Successful applicant is subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
