Job summary

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) seeks a motivated drafter for our Oklahoma City, OK office.

Under supervision, you will support engineering and drafting projects using CAD tools to develop sub-professional knowledge and abilities, working under the guidance of a project engineer or project manager. Responsibilities include drawing general arrangements, structures, site plans, electrical schematics, and revisions, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design.
• Two years of concentrated on-the-job experience in CAD/Design field is acceptable.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work individually and on a team.
• Must be detailed oriented with high organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform drafting work manually or via computer, applying drafting methods and techniques.
• Use a standard set of drafting symbols and layering per ECI standards.
• Prepare as-built drawings from red-line copies.
• Prepare error-free revisions of preexisting CAD files.
• Handle miscellaneous tasks such as drawing reproduction and material logistics.

Job description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Oklahoma City, OK office as a drafter.

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will utilize computer-aided drafting and other compatible software tools to support engineering and drafting projects with a goal to develop sub-professional work knowledge and abilities by executing drafter assignments under the supervision of an experienced project engineer or project manager.

Work includes drawings of general arrangements, structures, facilities, site plans, facility layouts, electrical schematics, wiring and connection requirements. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing drafting work manually or by use of a computer requiring knowledge and skills in drafting methods, procedures and techniques.


• Using a recognized system of symbols, legends, shadings, lines and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.


• Preparing as-built drawings from red-line copies.


• Preparing error-free revisions of preexisting CADD files.


• Performing a variety of assignments which may include drawing reproduction, handling material supplies and other similar work.

Minimum Requirements: College degree in an acceptable curriculum or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design, or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-aided drafting/design field. Must have proven effective verbal and written communication skills, proven excellent level of interpersonal skills, and ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detailed oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. Proven ability to work with confidential information and proven ability to exercise independent judgment. Occasional travel/driving may be required. Successful applicant is subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements.
