Job summary

Straight and Narrow in Paterson, NJ, seeks a dedicated CADC/LCADC Counselor with co-occurring experience to join our residential/outpatient programs.

You will provide individual, group, and family counseling, maintain client charts, and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to support treatment planning and client progress.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, documentation, referrals, and ongoing professional development within a compassionate, licensed setting.

Qualifications

• HS/AA/BA/BS or MA/MSW with CADC/LCADC.
• 1-3 years’ experience in the addictions and/or mental health field.
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
• Familiar with NJSAMS, ASAM and LOCI.
• Experience facilitating groups and individuals; Drug Court Policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group and family counseling; didactics; treatment planning and case management as required per licensing standards.
• Maintain clinical portion of clients’ charts per DMHAS and CARF guidelines; ensure up-to-date documentation.
• Attend MDT meetings and present information for Treatment Plans or Reviews.
• Attend supervision with Clinical Supervisor; participate in CQI and Grievance Committees.
• Provide referrals for concurrent/continued care; crisis intervention as needed.
• Submit daily session documentation to Supervisor; maintain professional boundaries and ethics.
