Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a Licensed Addiction Counselor for the Washington, DC Job Corps center. You will design and oversee substance use prevention/intervention programs in collaboration with health staff and the Center Director.

The role requires CADC or LADC certification, and ideally one year of related experience with youth in a residential setting. A master’s degree is preferred and a valid driver’s license is advantageous.

Qualifications

• CADC or LADC certification is required.
• Prefer one year of work-related experience.
• Prefer experience working with youth, especially in a residential setting.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Must pass a drug screen per policy.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements all programs related to substance use prevention/intervention with the Mental Health Consultant and staff.
• Coordinates programs to reduce/substance use in line with Job Corps guidelines.
• Conducts in-service training sessions with staff and students on substance use/abuse.
• Submits recommendations for medical terminations related to substance misuse in collaboration with the team.
• Monitors progress of students in the prevention/intervention program.
• Maintains confidential reports and records on referrals and cases.
