Job summary

Eckerd Connects in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Licensed Addiction Counselor to design and oversee prevention and intervention programs for substance use and abuse among youth, in collaboration with health staff and the Center Director. Qualifications

  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) required.
  • Prefer one year of work-related experience; prefer experience working with youth.
  • Prefer Master's degree and experience with disadvantaged youth, especially in residential settings.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.

  • Designs, develops, and implements programs related to substance use prevention and intervention with Health Services staff.
  • Coordinates all programs to reduce substance use in compliance with guidelines.
  • Conducts in-service trainings for staff and students on substance use and abuse.
  • Submits recommendations for medical terminations related to substance misuse with the Center Director and Medical staff.
  • Monitors behavior and progress of students in the prevention/intervention program.
  • Maintains confidential reports and records on referrals and cases.

Annual Salary: $60,000

Full-Time, Part-Time, and On-Call Positions available

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Licensed/Certified Addiction Counselor is responsible for the designs, develops, and implements all programs related to substance use and abuse prevention and intervention in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant and Health Services staff, center physician and Center Director.
  • The Licensed/Certified Addiction Counselor coordinates all programs designed to reduce and eliminate substance use and abuse and in compliance with the Department of Labor/Job Corps guidelines.
  • Conducts in-service training sessions with both staff and students in all areas related to substance use and abuse.
  • Submits recommendations to the Center Director for medical terminations related to substance misuse and abuse in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, center physician, Health and Wellness Manager (RN), etc.
  • Monitors behavior and progress of students involved in the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program.
  • Maintains confidential reports and records on all referrals and cases.
Qualifications

  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
