Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) seeks a Surgical Education Laboratory Technician I to provide specialized lab support for cadaver-based education and simulation training.

You will prepare, set up, maintain, and restore the surgical skills lab before, during, and after courses, ensuring readiness for instructional staff. Based in Bethesda, MD, the role requires light travel between campus locations and involves interacting with the MOC2 program

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; medical lab focus preferred.
• 0–2 years’ experience required.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to pass occupational health lift test and obtain a T1 Public Trust background check.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and staging cadaver laboratory stations.
• Moving and positioning cadaver specimens following safety procedures.
• Setting up and organizing surgical instrument trays, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintaining laboratory readiness during training courses.
• Restocking consumables and supporting workflow.
• Assisting with cleanup, decontamination, and course breakdown.
• Organizing inventory for future training sessions.
