Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County is seeking a GIS Mapper to perform technical cadastral mapping and manage spatial data for the annual assessment roll. The role involves researching deeds, plats, surveys, and other property records and ensuring accuracy across GIS and assessment systems.

Qualifications

• Level I: High school diploma or GED and one year of relevant experience or technical training in the position’s occupational field or a related field.
• Level II: All Level I requirements, plus two consecutive full tax-roll cycles in the Level I position; demonstrated ability to work independently; and successful completion of Introduction to Reading Real Property Descriptions; DOR Real Property Transfer Qualification Code Training; and FACM 01, FACM 02, and FACM 03.
• Level III: All Level II requirements, plus two consecutive full tax-roll cycles in the Level II position; at least four years of relevant combined education or work experience; and demonstrated advanced technical and working-lead proficiency. At management's request, the employee must also complete FACM 04 – Basic Map Compilation; and IAIO 600 or IAAO 601.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical cadastral mapping, and geographic information systems work necessary to create, maintain, analyze, and quality-control parcel, ownership, subdivision, taxing district, and related spatial data.
• Research and interpret deeds, plats, surveys, legal descriptions, condominium documents, easements, rights-of-way, aerial imagery, and other property records; update GIS and Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal systems; resolve mapping discrepancies; prepare maps and related products; and provide mapping information to employees, governmental agencies, property owners, and other customers.
• Work must be performed in accordance with applicable laws, Department of Revenue requirements, professional mapping standards, and Office policies and procedures.
