Job summary

HDR is seeking a CAD Water Intern to develop detailed 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD Civil 3D for construction drawings. You will collaborate with engineers, EITs, PMs and other CAD users to translate concepts into deliverable designs and updates based on redlines and design changes.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential for success. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with 3.0+ GPA and basic Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• 1 year completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
• Currently enrolled in a CAD degree or certificate program.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

• Create technical drawings: Develop detailed 2D and 3D models using Autocad Civil 3D to produce construction drawings
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, EITs, project managers and other CAD users to interpret and develop engineering concepts and designs
• Design review and revision: Update and correct drawings based on redlines, mark-ups, feedback, scope and/or design changes

In the role of CAD Water Intern, we'll count on you to:

Create technical drawings: Develop detailed 2D and 3D models using Autocad Civil 3D to produce construction drawings

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, EITs, project managers and other CAD users to interpret and develop engineering concepts and designs

Design review and revision: Update and correct drawings based on redlines, mark-ups, feedback, scope and/or design changes

Communicate: ask questions, effectively share ideas, convey information to other team members

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Currently enrolled in a CAD degree or certificate program
• Ability to learn and understand engineering concepts and design
• Ability to review and produce accurate drawings, dimensions, and specifications while adhering to project standards, design criteria, and detailed instructions
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
