Job summary

D.H. Griffin Infrastructure is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join the Survey team in Cary, NC. The role focuses on organizing CAD files, importing plans into Trimble Business Center and HCSS, and supporting data preparation for field operations.

You will work with experienced professionals on high-impact projects in a dynamic environment, leveraging AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, and Trimble Business Center while maintaining rigorous data organization and version control.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD or modeling software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specs.
• General understanding of site construction, surveying, or drafting principles.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Associate's degree or certificate in Civil Eng Tech / Geomatics / Construction Management, OR equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise work.
• Ability to learn new technology and software quickly.
• Effective communication and reliability in team settings.

Responsibilities

• Import and organize CAD files from engineers into Trimble Business Center (TBC).
• Import and georeferenced PDF plans into TBC and HCSS for use by survey teams and field crews.
• Maintain and update the Excel invert tracking log to manage plan revisions across active projects.
• Ensure project files are organized and maintain version control as plans are updated.
• Support the Survey Data Manager with project preparation and data organization tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely data delivery to field operations.
