Job summary

HWC Engineering is seeking a qualified CAD Technician/Designer to support our Land Development team in New Albany, IN. You will take projects from concept to construction documents, emphasizing site geometry, utilities, grading, and drainage using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Collaborate with project engineers, managers, and surveyors to address challenges and ensure project success while working in a team-driven environment with flexible office options.

Qualifications

• Associates’ degree in Design Technology/CAD required.
• 5+ years of working experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering design practices is a plus.
• Must be organized and schedule driven to work on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site plans for land development projects with the project engineer.
• Create construction documents, schematics, and exhibits from data provided by engineers.
• Develop and refine design and drafting standards for projects.
• Design primarily in AutoCAD Civil 3D focusing on road layout, grading, earthwork takeoffs, and erosion and sediment control plans.
• Communicate effectively with clients and collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
