Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a CAD Technician I for on-site drafting support in the United States. The role requires completing non-routine drafting tasks with moderate complexity from rough drawings, and coordinating with other engineering teams.

Independent work is possible with supervisor guidance as needed. Ideal candidates have 1–4 years of drafting experience, strong AutoCAD or MicroStation skills, and solid PC/IT abilities.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of technical school training or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience drafting engineering drawings and diagrams as Drafter 1.
• Proven AutoCAD and/or MicroStation skills.
• Strong PC/IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to communicate with diverse backgrounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create diagrams, schematics, layouts, multiview drawings to scale per client requests.
• Perform mathematical, geometrical calculations and engineering computations.
• Scale drawings using CAD systems.
• Produce detailed design drawings and specifications for civil/electrical equipment.
• Prepare substation, relay, and line design packages as required.
• File drawings and maintain catalogs of engineering data.
