Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a CAD Technician to support civil engineering projects across municipal infrastructure, MILCON, and site development. You will transform concepts into detailed drawings using CAD standards and models.

You will draft with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation, develop site layouts, utility plans, and drainage details, and collaborate with engineers to meet budgets and deadlines. This is a hands-on design role for experienced drafters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil CAD drafting/design for site development or municipal infra.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (model space, paper space, base drawings).
• Preparing plans for water, wastewater, stormwater and roadways.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and topographic surveys.
• Strong understanding of site grading, geometry, drainage and utility layouts.
• Experience producing permit and construction drawing sets.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment on diverse projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce and edit civil engineering drawings using CAD tools.
• Develop site development plans including grading, utility, and drainage.
• Prepare plan and profile drawings for underground utilities.
• Perform site grading, terrain modeling, and layout of storm sewers.
• Produce exhibits, details, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with CAD standards and project specs.
• Manage and organize project files and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to meet budget and deadlines.
