Job summary

MacKay is seeking a CAD Technician in Federal Way, WA to create, update, and maintain engineering drawings. You will incorporate redlines, field markups, and ensure data accuracy across civil engineering plans.

Responsibilities include applying survey data to layouts, reviewing plans for code compliance, and supporting licensed staff with precise documentation. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Word, and Excel is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in engineering, architecture, surveying or construction management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2+ years combined school and/or work experience in CAD drafting.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D with ability to draft site layouts, grading and utility plans.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, assist engineering team in preparing drawings and supporting data for projects.
• Apply survey information and field notes to produce accurate layouts and designs.
• Review plans, interpret drawings, and conduct field checks for compliance and standards.
• Prepare engineering records and support licensed staff with documentation and data.
