Job summary

GeoEngineers is seeking a CAD Technician to assist in producing figures and design drawings in collaboration with CAD staff across multiple projects. The role includes Civil 3D tasks, redlines, data processing, and creating figures under supervision.

You will work in a standard office setting with emphasis on accuracy and meeting deadlines. The position offers overtime eligibility and potential for a year-end bonus, along with a range of benefits.

Qualifications

Job description

The CAD Technician is responsible for assisting in the production of figures and design drawings. This position partners with other CAD Staff to develop drawings for engineers and scientists. This technician position supports a variety of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of CAD staff, assists with: redlines, Civil 3D tasks such as the creation of points, surfaces, alignments, and sections/profiles, processing basic CAD and engineering data sets to be used in drawings, creating basic figures, providing basic support for engineering design drawings, internal CAD standard initiatives such as detail library development, creating symbology, organizing layers in templates, etc.
• Collaborates with CAD staff to meet deadlines, adhere to budgets, and ensures deliverables are reviewed for QA/QC.
• Adheres to internal and industry CAD drawing production standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience producing civil and/or environmental engineering drawings and figures preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and/or diagrammatic instructions.
• Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• All candidates are subject to completing a background check, and reference check.
• Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting and regular walking, bending, standing and reaching.
• Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.

Our best estimate of the hourly rate for this position is $29.81 - $39.42. This is a non-exempt position, and the employee will be compensated for overtime hours worked over 40 per week at the rate of 1.5 times the hourly rate. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ hourly rates are reviewed and updated each year, and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
