Job summary

Aleut Federal is seeking a CAD Technician to provide design and drafting support for the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base. You will develop, update, and maintain technical drawings and facility records using Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and related tools.

The role requires coordinating with engineers, planners, GIS staff, and facility users, ensuring drawing accuracy, standards compliance, and timely delivery in a government environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or postsecondary certificate in CAD, drafting, engineering technology, surveying, architecture, or related field.
• At least two years of experience performing computer-aided design and drafting work.
• Strong proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D to develop and revise technical drawings.
• Experience using AutoCAD and related CAD applications.
• Ability to interpret architectural, civil, electrical, utility, surveying, engineering, and construction information.
• Experience incorporating field measurements, redline markups, design revisions, and as-built information into technical drawings.
• Ability to work full-time onsite at Schriever Space Force Base.
• Legal United States residency and work authorization; ability to satisfy government requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and revise engineering drawings, construction plans, floor plans, utility drawings, details, blueprints, and facility records.
• Incorporate verified field conditions, redline markups, and approved design changes into government drawing records.
• Use Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Map 3D, Revit, and other approved tools.
• Review drawings for compliance with standards and project criteria.
• Verify drawing layers, scale, symbology, annotations, title blocks, and coordinates.
• Coordinate technical drawing information with engineers, GIS personnel, construction staff, and facility users.
• Convert, organize, archive, and maintain native drawing files and PDFs.
• Maintain drawing version control, file naming, metadata, and revision histories.

Aleut Management Services is seeking a CAD Technician to provide computer-aided design and drafting Advisory and Assistance Services to the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base. This position supports installation planning, engineering, construction, and asset management by developing, updating, reviewing, and maintaining accurate technical drawings and facility record documents.

The CAD Technician coordinates with engineers, planners, Geographic Information System personnel, construction personnel, real-property staff, and facility users to incorporate verified field conditions and approved project information into Government drawing records. The selected candidate will use Autodesk Civil 3D and other Government-approved design tools to prepare standards-compliant products while maintaining drawing accuracy, configuration control, and file integrity.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop, update, and revise engineering drawings, construction plans, floor plans, utility drawings, details, blueprints, and facility record drawings.

Incorporate verified field conditions, redline markups, approved design changes, and construction as-built information into Government drawing records.

Use Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Map 3D, Revit, and other Government-approved computer-aided design and drafting tools.

Review drawings for compliance with the United States National CAD Standard, Department of Defense A/E/C CAD Standard, applicable Air Force requirements, and project-specific criteria.

Verify drawing layers, line types, scale, symbology, dimensions, annotations, text, title blocks, references, and coordinate information.

Conduct or support field verification of facility layouts, utilities, infrastructure, equipment locations, dimensions, and other existing conditions.

Coordinate technical drawing information with civil and electrical engineers, facility planners, Geographic Information System personnel, construction managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.

Convert, organize, archive, and maintain native drawing files, reference files, supporting documents, and approved PDF products.

Maintain drawing version control, file-naming conventions, metadata, revision histories, and configuration-management records.

Identify incomplete, conflicting, inaccurate, or outdated drawing information and coordinate resolution with appropriate Government personnel.

Support preparation and review of project programming, planning, design, construction, inspection, and closeout documentation.

Review contractor-provided drawings and as-built packages for completeness, accuracy, format, and compliance with applicable requirements.

Integrate applicable CAD information with Geographic Information System, real-property, and asset-management records.

Support installation and geographically separated unit requirements as assigned.

Provide technical observations, analyses, documentation, and recommendations while preserving Government engineering approval and decision-making authority.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must satisfy one of the following CAD Technician qualification paths:

Associate degree or postsecondary certificate in computer-aided design, drafting, engineering technology, surveying, architecture, or a closely related field

At least two years of experience performing computer-aided design and drafting work.

Candidates must also demonstrate:

Strong proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D to develop and revise technical drawings.

Experience using AutoCAD and related computer-aided design and drafting applications.

Ability to interpret architectural, civil, electrical, utility, surveying, engineering, and construction information.

Experience incorporating field measurements, redline markups, design revisions, and as-built information into technical drawings.

Knowledge of drawing layers, scale, dimensions, symbology, annotations, title blocks, external references, and file-management practices.

Ability to identify drawing conflicts, discrepancies, omissions, and outdated information.

Experience maintaining organized electronic drawing files, revision histories, and configuration control.

Ability to coordinate technical information with engineers, planners, Geographic Information System personnel, construction personnel, and facility users.

Ability to work full-time onsite at Schriever Space Force Base.

Legal United States residency and work authorization and the ability to satisfy Government suitability, installation-access, and restricted-area requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience supporting a Civil Engineer Squadron, military installation, or Air Force Civil Engineer Center program.

Experience applying the United States National CAD Standard or Department of Defense A/E/C CAD Standard.

Experience using Autodesk Map 3D, Revit, or other building-information-modeling and geospatial design applications.

Experience developing or maintaining facility, utility, infrastructure, civil-site, or real-property drawings.

Experience reviewing contractor as-built drawings and construction closeout packages.

Familiarity with Geographic Information System/GeoBase data and integration of CAD and geospatial information.

Familiarity with NexGen IT/TRIRIGA or comparable facility and asset-management systems.

Experience conducting field surveys or verifying existing facility and infrastructure conditions.

Experience managing technical drawings in controlled or restricted military environments.
