Job summary

Aleut Federal seeks a Civil Engineer to support the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base. You will assist in planning, design reviews, construction, and project closeout of facilities and infrastructure.

The role requires coordinating with users, architects, engineers, planners, and construction teams, producing calculations and cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and Air Force criteria. On-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least five years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and multidisciplinary facility design and construction.
• Experience developing or reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and documentation.
• Experience coordinating with engineers, architects, planners, contracting, construction, and facility users.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering analysis and technical support for facility, pavement, utility, site-development, drainage, and related infrastructure projects.
• Validate project requirements through review of mission needs, existing conditions, facility records, drawings, and criteria.
• Conduct site visits, condition assessments, and field verification of existing infrastructure.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, SOWs, cost estimates, schedules, and documentation.
• Review designs for compliance with laws, codes, UFCs, AF requirements, and accepted engineering practices.

Position Summary: Civil Engineer

Aleut Management Services is seeking a Civil Engineer to provide engineering Advisory and Assistance Services to the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base. This position supports the planning, programming, design review, construction, and closeout of facility and infrastructure projects through technical analysis, requirements development, cost estimating, field investigation, project coordination, and engineering recommendations.

The Civil Engineer coordinates with facility users, architects, engineers, planners, contracting personnel, construction personnel, and Government-designated design and construction agents. The selected candidate will assess technical requirements, review project documents, evaluate field conditions, and advise Government personnel while preserving Government authority over engineering approvals, contracting decisions, project priorities, and other inherently governmental functions.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide civil engineering analysis and technical support for facility, pavement, utility, site-development, drainage, grading, and related infrastructure projects.

Validate project requirements through review of mission needs, existing conditions, facility records, drawings, applicable criteria, and stakeholder input.

Conduct site visits, facility investigations, condition assessments, and field verification of existing infrastructure.

Develop and review engineering calculations, technical drawings, specifications, Statements of Work, cost estimates, schedules, and supporting project documentation.

Evaluate project feasibility, constructability, lifecycle cost, environmental considerations, site constraints, and mission impacts.

Review designs and technical packages for compliance with applicable laws, codes, Unified Facilities Criteria, Department of the Air Force requirements, and accepted engineering practices.

Review contractor submittals, Requests for Information, material proposals, shop drawings, schedules, change documentation, and other technical submissions.

Identify technical deficiencies, conflicts, risks, omissions, and potential cost or schedule impacts and provide documented recommendations.

Develop or support Government cost estimates, project programming packages, acquisition documents, and technical evaluation materials.

Support Facility Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization; Military Construction; Air Force Comprehensive Asset Management Plan; and other installation project activities.

Coordinate civil engineering requirements with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, planning, Geographic Information System, and construction disciplines.

Support project meetings, design reviews, preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, inspections, and project closeout activities.

Review construction progress and field conditions and provide technical recommendations concerning compliance, quality, safety, schedule, and corrective actions.

Maintain accurate project records, technical files, status information, and supporting documentation in Government systems of record.

Provide technical observations, analyses, documentation, and recommendations while preserving Government engineering approval and decision-making authority.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must satisfy the following Civil Engineer qualification requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology‑accredited program.

At least five years of relevant civil engineering experience.

Candidates must also demonstrate:

Knowledge of civil engineering principles and multidisciplinary facility and infrastructure design and construction.

Experience developing or reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, Statements of Work, cost estimates, schedules, and technical documentation.

Experience conducting site investigations, facility assessments, field surveys, or construction inspections.

Ability to interpret and apply engineering codes, Unified Facilities Criteria, construction standards, safety requirements, and environmental requirements.

Experience identifying technical deficiencies, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and project risks.

Ability to evaluate project scope, cost, schedule, feasibility, and mission impacts.

Experience coordinating technical requirements with engineers, architects, planners, contracting personnel, construction personnel, and facility users.

Strong written communication, analytical, written and communication, written, communication, and technical‑writing skills.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and maintain accurate project records.

Ability to work full‑time onsite at Schriever Space Force Base.

Legal United States residency and work authorization and the ability to satisfy Government suitability, installation‑access, and restricted‑area requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience supporting a Civil Engineer Squadron, military installation, or Air Force Civil Engineer Center program.

Experience supporting Facility Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization, Military Construction, or Air Force Comprehensive Asset Management Plan projects.

Experience with federal facility environmental, construction, acquisition, and project‑documentation requirements.

Experience developing Government cost estimates, project programming documents, or technical acquisition packages.

Familiarity with NexGen IT/TRIRIGA, the Comprehensive Planning Platform, Parametric Cost Engineering System, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other Government engineering systems.

Experience reviewing contractor submittals, Requests for Information, change proposals, payment requests, or as‑built documents.

Experience supporting construction surveillance, quality assurance, commissioning, or project closeout.

Experience coordinating facility and infrastructure projects in controlled or restricted military environments.

Access and Training Requirements

The selected candidate must be able to complete:

• National Agency Check with Inquiries or other required suitability processing.
• Common Access Card or Defense Biometric Identification System credentialing.
• Restricted‑area and installation‑access processing.
