Industrial Power Solutions is seeking a motivated CAD Tech to join our Electrical Design Team supporting the development and production of UL 508A electrical control panels. Whether you are an experienced professional seeking a new challenge or a recent graduate with a passion for electrical technology and drafting, this role offers an exciting opportunity to build a career in industrial electrical design focused on real-world panel construction and manufacturing. The CAD Tech will support the creation of accurate electrical drawings, panel layouts, schematics, and production documentation used in the fabrication of UL-certified control panels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of electrical drawing packages and production documentation for UL 508A control panels
  • Collaborate with engineers, panel builders, project managers, and production teams to support project execution
  • Produce accurate CAD drawings including electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation
  • Assist with revisions, updates, and coordination of electrical documentation throughout project lifecycles
  • Maintain organization and accuracy of project files and drawing standards
  • Support production and fabrication teams by ensuring drawings are clear, accurate, and constructible
UL 508A Panel Design Support
  • Assist in the development of drawings and layouts for UL-certified industrial control panels
  • Support electrical load calculations, component layouts, and panel arrangement documentation
  • Work alongside engineering and production teams to ensure compliance with UL 508A and NEC standards
  • Develop and maintain bill of materials (BOM) documentation and panel schedules
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) documentation and drawing revisions as required
Training and Development
  • Participate in comprehensive training programs designed for both experienced professionals and recent graduates
  • Receive hands‑on mentorship from experienced engineers and electrical professionals
  • Develop proficiency in CAD software, electrical drafting standards, and industrial control panel design principles
  • Build technical and professional skills through real‑world project exposure and continuous learning opportunities
Technology and Design Tools
  • Utilize CAD software and electrical drafting tools to support innovative and efficient panel designs
  • Work with advanced design resources used throughout industrial electrical manufacturing and construction environments
  • Support the production of accurate and organized electrical documentation packages

Minimum Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree or coursework related to electrical engineering, drafting, CAD technology, or a related field
  • Previous CAD or electrical drafting experience preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit is a plus
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, UL standards, or control panels preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and move throughout the office as needed
  • Occasional shop or jobsite visits may be required depending on project needs
