Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Technical Documentation Engineer to create manuals, specifications and process documentation in line with ASME and customer standards. You will gather information from SMEs, organize content, and produce clear, actionable documentation.

You'll maintain and improve technical communications processes, work with CAD outputs from SolidWorks and 2D drawings, and edit materials for clarity and consistency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5–10 years of experience in technical documentation or engineering communications.
Excellent grammar and punctuation with strong attention to detail.
Self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple SMEs.
Proficient with FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Windchill CMS, Arbortext Editor or equivalent XML authoring tools.

Responsibilities

Create product manuals, instruction manuals and other supporting documents to communicate technical information.
Gather information from SMEs and develop, organize and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
Create parametric 3D models and 2D drawings per customer and ASME standards using SolidWorks.
Apply GD&T knowledge and perform tolerance stack‑up analysis.
Proofread and reauthor functional specifications and other engineering‑authored technical documents.
Present complex information in Simplified Technical English and Plain English.
Edit and peer review documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Support development of technical communications processes, tools, and best practices.
Develop and maintain professional competencies in technical communications and relevant domains.

What You Will Do

Create product manuals/ instruction manuals/ How‑To guides and other supporting documents to communicate technical information.
Gather information from SME’s and develop, organize and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
Creating parametric 3D Models, Assembly and 2D drawings as per Customer and ASME standards using SolidWorks.
Knowledge of GD&T and Tolerance stack‑up analysis.
Proofread and reauthor functional specifications and other engineering‑authored technical documents to simplify overall functionality and product intricacies.
Present complex information to the target audience in a controlled language such as Simplified Technical English (STE) and Plain English.
Serve the role of an editor / proofreader by participating in peer reviews.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of technical communications business processes, competencies, tools, standards, and best practices (style guides, templates etc.).
Develop, maintain, and improve personal professional competencies, specialized knowledge, and skills in technical communications and relevant technical domains.

What You Will Bring

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 5‑10 years of experience.
Excellent grammar and punctuation skills with attention to detail.
Key interpersonal skills including a self‑starter and ability to work independently.
Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement.
Tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Advanced user of Content Management Systems (Windchill), XML authoring (Arbortext Editor) or equivalent.
CAD Tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
Illustration and graphic designing tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Visio & Photoshop.

Pay range

$65K–$75K. Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
