Job summary

Encore is seeking a CAD Designer to collaborate with the CAD Project Manager in creating 2D and 3D floor plans for the National Operations Division, ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction. The role requires familiarity with lighting and rigging details in the Audio Visual industry.

You will design 2D/3D layouts, maintain CAD standards, and support staff and client reviews. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or Associates Degree in Architectural Design or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with AutoCAD software.
• Knowledge of Audio Visual lighting and rigging criteria.
• Experience with Autodesk 3ds Max and LD Assistant.

Job description

Position Overview

Work closely with CAD Project Manager in the creation of computer aided design diagrams at an expert level for the National Operations Division while ensuring a high level of accuracy, and the utmost in client satisfaction. Familiarity with the Audio Visual Industry details, such as lighting and rigging.

Key Job Responsibilities

CAD Design

Design and create 2D and 3D floor plans using computer-aided drafting software, maintaining PCMA and CAD Department design and drawing standards. Update current drawing database. Provide diagrams for staff, and client review, and for venue and Fire Marshal approval. Ensure that a high level of quality is maintained on all projects.

Technical Support

Utilize computer skills and knowledge of current release of AutoCAD to complete detailed room layouts. Develop 3D diagrams and renderings using software such as LD Assistant. A thorough understanding and efficiency of the CAD Department’s drafting and design standards. A strong knowledge of design, scale, and proportions to aid in the creation of the diagrams.

Customer Service

Provide outstanding customer service by establishing excellent working relationships with clients, (i.e. association representatives), company employees (i.e. Account Managers, Project Managers, Sales Managers), and all related project staff (i.e. event coordinators, etc.).

Time Management

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while working at a high level of efficiency under extreme deadlines.

Communication

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Frequently contact facilities to speak with Event Coordinator, or another representative regarding room layouts. When attending site visits or on show site, represent Encore National Operations and the CAD Department in a professional manner.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. When traveling, work will be completed in a hotel environment with limited exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high-end audio visual equipment and electrical components. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $22.91 - $29.77

The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as potential overtime, bonuses or incentives.
