Jobot is seeking a Programmer/Optimizer for CNC laser operations in Tacoma. You will set up and run Trumpf equipment, program nests, and optimize material usage while maintaining quality.

You’ll review part files, verify first pieces, and stage parts for the next fabrication steps. A hands-on mindset with programming skills in a high-mix fabrication environment is valued, with strong attention to detail and process improvement.

Qualifikationen

• Ability to read prints and work from flat patterns.
• Basic sheet metal understanding (steel, aluminum).
• Ability to switch between programming and hands-on machine work.

Job Details

What you’ll be doing:

• Set up and run a CNC laser (primarily Trumpf equipment)
• Program nests and optimizes material usage using nesting software
• Review part files and layouts before cutting to catch potential issues
• Verify the first pieces and keep an eye on quality while jobs are running
• Sort and stage parts for the next step in fabrication
• Support forming operations when needed (press brake exposure is a plus)

What they’re looking for:

• Experience running fiber lasers in a fabrication or job shop environment
• Familiarity with nesting software
• Ability to read prints and work from flat patterns/DXF files
• Basic understanding of sheet metal (steel, stainless, aluminum)
• Someone comfortable switching between programming and hands-on machine work

Nice to have:

• Experience with lasers, plasma, waterjet, or similar machinery
• Exposure to press brake setup or forming processes
• Background in a high-mix, custom fabrication shop
